What is Tangobum.com?

Tangobum is a small exclusive community of tango dancers. We are spread around the globe.

We are not tango snobs – at least we try not to be 😉 – but we are enthusiastic addicted tango dancers and we all have the ambition to get a little better at tango every day.

You will be invited to Tangobum.com with an individual link. Or you can meet someone who is already on Tangobum.com and invite you to join. Or you can write us and ask to be added to the community.

„Tangobum“ … ?!??

The term “bum” – a colloquial term for vagabond and/or homeless person – is also used for lovers of a particular activity who lead an unconventional bohemian low-cost lifestyle in order to pursue that activity more intensively.

Common uses of “bum” in this sense are ski bum, surf bum or skate bum. In this context, the term “bum” is not necessarily derogatory and is also used as a self-description. And we are Tango Bums.

How it all started

2011 was a year of all-out Tango, where things finally took off for me and my wider Tango crew. I left a cushy corporate job to pursue freelance work and dance 3-5 times per week, travel Europe and mingle with the Tangonomads.

Basel, Moscow, Freiburg, Kehl, Nijmegen, Oslo, Mannheim, Heidelberg, Halle, Leibzig, Berlin, Barcelona, Lisboa, London, … countless stations, countless milongas, an endless stream of embraces, encounters, affairs, passion, eros, love, heartbreak and dances that will remain epic for all eternity.

Tango isn’t just a dance, it’s more of a lifestyle, sort of like surfing or skateboarding.

And Tangobum is our source, community and brand to reflect everything that is vivid and uncompromising about European and international Tango Nuevo.

Welcome to the ultimate drug.
